My little dancin' fool!

Okay, so this video is about a month old, but I couldn't resist putting it up anyway. I just love it when he dances!

A day at the park...

Yesterday, EB and I decided to get the kids together to play at the park, since they don't get to see each other that often anymore. We initially tried to go to Hager Park, but the Discovery Center (the only structure suitable for toddlers) was closed for annual maintenance. So I mentioned a couple more nearby parks, and we decided to go to Rush Creek Park, the park where Doug plays softball every summer. They had a blast! This picture was kind of sentimental for me because the last time he was in this exact swing, was on our 4 year anniversary and he was only nine months old! Check out the old pic at garrettdegraaf.blogspot.com February 2008 postings... I can't believe how much bigger he is!

Here's Garrett and Carolyn enjoying the double slide. They can both go down all by themselves!

Sharing leaves...

Carolyn was so excited to help Garrett blow bubbles. I love the face that she's making too!

It almost looks like Garrett's going to eat them!

A little blurry, but by far my favorite picture!

All boy!

Exploring a tree

It was such a great day at the park. EB and I were commenting on how cool the day was and it felt like Fall was about to show itself. The smell of the air and the laughter all over made it a very special day. I was very grateful to have a special morning for Garrett to enjoy!

Is this really happening?

So far this pregnancy has been a roller coaster ride. Not only am I emotionally up and down, but I'm also trying to grasp the reality that we're really going to have another baby...! Whoa! I know that in my last post I had said that this was a shock. Seriously, if you're not using any birth control, how much of a shock can it really be? Nevertheless, I still felt like the rug got pulled out from under me. Can I be a good mom to two children? I'm just starting to get the hang of one! Even then, Garrett loves to throw me curve balls.

Most days, I'm just trying to make it day to day and show Garrett how much I love him. But when I actually stop and think about what's going to be happening next year, I start getting a little scared. A new baby, Doug will hopefully be starting the nursing program... Those two things alone are major life changing events. Can we make it? How are we going to handle two kids and school and all the bills? Not to mention, I'll probably still have to work full time to keep the insurance for Doug and the kids. It was hard enough leaving Garrett after 3 months to go back to work, but to have to do it again, this time with another child? I feel so unprepared for what life is throwing me.

I know we will be okay. How? "If He brings you to it, He'll bring you though it!" I'm starting my mission in prayer that He will provide for us and keep us safe and healthy, keep our finances in control, and keep our hearts content in any situation that may come. Now, to be diligent in prayer... That's another story.

A new start for our family...

I thought that I'd start this new blog in hopes that it will grow with our family. And I think that even though I'm sad to see all Garrett's adorable pics and video left behind, they are not forgotten and I have a link to see them anytime I want. Besides, this gives Doug and I a great opporunity to announce the new arrival coming next April! YES! I'M PREGNANT! This was a shock to me, but we are very excited to grow our family and create even more memories, all including Garrett. Now that the blog is not COMPLETELY about Garrett, but everyone in our family including all future members, we have a chance to really show our family in a light never seen before. So thank you for joining us in this journey and hope you will be a part of our memories along the way!
